Steps to Master
Ballroom Dancing
Here are some tips that you should know about, before planning to join
the ballroom dance classes.
- Find a Partner
Even though your friend is not interested in learning how to do ballroom
dancing, they can help you with learning the moves. Hence, the first step is to
find a partner while planning to learn ballroom dancing.
- Get to the Right Posture
Leaning or slouching while ballroom dancing is a big NO. Hence, mastering
the right posture of the body always comes first in learning ballroom dancing. It
includes straightening your back, stiffening your posture by making your shoulders
broad and straight, etc.
- Keep the Head in Right position
In ballroom dancing, you will not be keeping your head in such a way that
your eyes meet with that of your partner’s. Here, you will be looking over the
right side shoulder of your partner (towards your left shoulder).
After positioning your head, next comes the expression that is important.
Think of some thoughts that will make you feel like the happiest person on
earth, and maintain it throughout the performance.
- Hand Position
This is an important factor to consider, while getting to the posture of
ballroom dancing. The left hand of the man and the right hand of the woman
should be placed in such a way that their palms are facing each other. The
hands are then tilted so that the man’s hand cups around the hands of the
woman. The right hand of the man should be rested on the shoulder blade of
woman’s body and the woman’s left hand will be placed on the right shoulder of
man.
Follow these tips and nothing can stop you from moving easily while dancing
with your partner.
